SHEET 03 / MIXING SYSTEM NO. 1
SCALE 1:1
REV 2026.04

MAIN ASSEMBLY / SHEET 03

The intensive
mixer.

The patented counter-rotation principle, sheet by sheet. An inclined pan turns one way. An eccentric tool turns the other. Two independent drives. One machine that scales linearly from a 0.1 litre laboratory unit to a 12,000 litre production cell.

P / PRINCIPLE

Two motions.
One mixing event.

Patented in 1903 by Gustav Eirich. Drawn the same way ever since. Four operating notes describe the entire principle.

01

Pan rotates one way

An inclined cylindrical pan, bottom and walls rotating as one body, carries the entire charge into the tool.

02

Tool rotates the other

An eccentrically mounted mixing tool spins independently, against the pan motion, at speeds up to 40 m/s.

03

Independent drives

Pan speed and tool speed are decoupled. Energy input becomes a parameter, not a consequence of throughput.

04

Variable energy

Gentle blending and high-shear dispersion happen on the same machine. The recipe sets the regime.

S / SIZE TABLE

From 0.1 litre
to 12,000 litre.

The same drawing, scaled. Three classes cover the full range from a benchtop laboratory cabinet to a production cell.

Laboratory

0.1 to 5 L
R&D, recipe development, QualiMaster benchmarking

Small scale

40 to 150 L
Pilot runs, short series, sample qualification

Large scale

250 to 12,000 L
Continuous and batch production, full plant integration

V / VARIANTS

Five housings.
One geometry.

The pan, tool and drive geometry stays constant across the five variants. The housing changes for the process at hand.

V01

Standard

Fixed pan, top access, the reference geometry for most processes.

V02

Hinged

Hinged cover for fast cleaning between recipes and visual inspection.

V03

Tilting

Pan tilts 30° to discharge by gravity. No scraper, no residue.

V04

MixSolver

High shear dissolving variant for liquid binders, slurries and pastes.

V05

Evactherm

Sealed vacuum housing for evacuation, evaporative cooling and inert atmosphere processing.

PR / PROCESSES

Seven processes.
One machine.

Mixing, granulating, kneading, dispersing, coating, drying and vacuum operation are all carried out on the same intensive mixer. Only the recipe changes.

MIXING

Homogenisation across density and particle size

GRANULATING

Wet and dry granule build up to controlled size

KNEADING

Plastic and viscous masses, controlled torque

DISPERSING

High shear breakup of agglomerates

COATING

Surface treatment and binder distribution

DRYING

Combined mixing and drying under vacuum

VACUUM

Down to 10 mbar, inert or reactive atmospheres

C / CONTACT

Send a recipe.
Collect a protocol.

Ship a sample. We run it on the exact mixer you would buy. You leave with a measured protocol and the curve files.
